About

 Lauren W. Marrus


Ms. Marrus is currently the CEO of Dempsey & Carroll. In addition, she is a trustee on the operating board of Monmouth Medical Center, a RWJ Barnabas Health hospital in Monmouth County, NJ.  


In November of 2004, Ms. Marrus and a small group of investors purchased the assets of the esteemed stationer, Dempsey & Carroll. At the same time, Ms. Marrus was President and CEO of The Chelsea Paper Company, the company she founded in January 2000 and sold to Papyrus in 2006.


Prior to that, Ms. Marrus was Senior Vice President, Global Marketing at Multex.com, now part of Reuters. Earlier, she was Vice President, Online Services for ABC responsible for launching and managing ABC Online, Oprah Online, and other content services. Her experience also includes work in investment banking and management consulting with The Bankers Trust Company and Booz, Allen & Hamilton, respectively.


Ms. Marrus is also a former Trustee of The Arthur Project, a therapeutic youth mentoring organization, of Getting Out, Staying Out – GOSONYC – an organization supporting men aged 18-24 with criminal justice involvement, and The Children’s Storefront, where she also served as Vice Chair. 


She holds an MBA from The Graduate School of Business at Harvard University as well as a Bachelor’s Degree with honors, Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Wellesley College. She lives in Manhattan and Rumson, NJ with her husband and rescue pup.
